High Perfomance Finishes

Healthcare Facility Decorative Products

Modern healthcare and eldercare facility operators understand the psychological benefits of an attractive pleasant environment on patients, caregivers and visiting families.

MELFABCO offers a range of fabrics, flooring, wall coverings and upholstery specifically designed to meet the hygiene and traffic requirements of these facilities while providing the colors, textures and patterns that enable designers to create beautiful yet practical environments.

These products have been selected for

  • Ease Of Cleaning/Maintenance
Materials and finishes able to resist aggressive cleaning such as solvents and steam processes.
  • Infection Control
Fabrics are finished with antimicrobial agents, mold inhibitors, fungicides and/or infection-resistant agents.
  • Fire And Smoke Resistance
Fabrics are made of noncombustible or flame-retardant materials and pass the tests of the National Fire Protection Association’s NFPA 701 Standard Methods of Fire Tests for Flame Propagation of Textiles and Films.
  • Non-Support Of Microbial Growth
Antimicrobial ingredients are added in the production of fibers to slow down the growth of bacteria and minimize soiling.
  • Durability
Healthcare facilities must select materials that resist high traffic of a constant flow of people using walkers, wheelchairs, rolling stretchers, and other equipment that bump into walls, furniture and tend to wear out flooring.
  • Slip Resistance
The floor types considered to be slip-resistant, include cork, rubber and carpet. Ease of cleaning is the main factor since nearly all slip/fall accidents on these surfaces arise from some contaminant on the surface.
  • Acoustic Performance
The ability to absorb excess noise to ensure patient tranquility and privacy.
  • Nontoxic/Nonallergenic
Containing no toxic chemicals or elements likely to cause an allergic reaction.
